Job Overview

This is a role within the distribution center of Simon & Schuster, a 100-year-old book publishing company with offices around the world. 

In this role you will be a Quality Inspector in our Quality Control Department.  

DUTIES:

• Examine cartons/pallet for discrepancies; weight, ISBN, price, carton quantity and/or damages.
• Use Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to enter and format results.
• Audit cartons using computer software.
• Inspect special orders for accuracy and product condition.
• Communicate findings and errors to correct departments and supervisor.
• Work on special projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:    

• Working knowledge of WM and UOPS

• You must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• You must have careful attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Excellent math and analytical skills.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.       

• Able to stand for up to 8 hours/day.
• Able to follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Overtime as needed (both voluntary and mandatory)
